Our Approach to Easy Read Standards
What "UKAAF-inspired" means — and what it doesn't
The UK's Association of Accessible Formats (UKAAF) provides comprehensive guidelines for Easy Read. The UKAAF doesn't certify Providers, and it is therefore not possible to be registered as compliant with an Easy Read standard.
Claru adopts the very highest standards for Easy Read. Beyond this, we follow all guidance from UKAAF and other expert bodies.
One Thing We Are Still Working On
We don't yet check our Easy Read output with real People with learning disabilities. This is something we are actively working to add.
UKAAF guidance recommends that Easy Read Documents are reviewed by People with learning disabilities before publication. We want to be transparent that this step is not yet part of our process.
Think Something is Missing ?
